Be A Sponsored Employee

United Way KW & Area’s Sponsored Employee Program will appeal to individuals who wish to experience a fast-paced not-for-profit environment and who would like to make a difference in this community.  We offer you the opportunity to join forces with our staff for a 15 week period – usually during our fall campaign. Serving as an extension of our team, you’ll act as a resource person to assist workplaces in planning, implementing and monitoring their United Way KW & Area campaigns, using tools like those found in our Campaign Toolkit.

What are the benefits?

As a sponsored employee, you’ll interact with both our internal United Way KW & Area team and outside business contacts. Acting in a motivational role, you may be given an opportunity to hone and refine your skills in:

  • Sales techniques and customer service
  • Public speaking
  • Teamwork and interpersonal relationships
  • Strategic analysis and planning
  • Leadership capabilities and project management
  • New contact development and networking

Many of our sponsored employees come from post-secondary institutions. Some are sponsored by the schools themselves, while others come to us through the generosity of local businesses and organizations.
