Be a Sponsored Employee
United Way KW's Sponsored Employee Program offers you the opportunity to join forces with our staff for a 15 week period - usually during our fall campaign. Serving as an extension of our team, you’ll act as a resource person to assist workplaces in planning, implementing and monitoring their United Way KW campaigns, using tools like those found in our Campaign Toolkit.
What are the benefits?
As a sponsored employee, you’ll interact with both our internal United Way KW team and outside business contacts. Acting in a motivational role, you’ll hone and refine your skills in:
- Sales techniques and customer service
- Public speaking
- Teamwork and interpersonal relationships
- Strategic analysis and planning
- Leadership capabilities and project management
- New contact development and networking
Best of all, you’ll return to your employer feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and ready to go - not to mention brimming with new skills and ideas!
Students can be Sponsored Employees too!
Many of our sponsored employees come from post-secondary institutions. Some are sponsored by the schools themselves, while others come to us through the generosity of local businesses and organizations.
