PRESIDENT'S AWARD

Victor Zamin, Chair of the Board of Directors, is pleased to announce Dave Fitzpatrick as recipient of the 2011 United Way President’s Award, which honours outstanding service contribution by a board member. Dave's long history with United Way started when he was an account executive in the insurance division. He then spent 4 years on our Campaign Cabinet as Chair for the insurance division before becoming Chair of the Campaign Cabinet in 2005. He joined our board in 2006, serving as a board member and then as Chair. Over the last year, as Past Chair, Dave was instrumental in leading strategic restructuring discussions with United Way of Cambridge and North Dumfries. Congratulations to Dave and thanks for his dedication and commitment.

2010 Leadership Reception with Olympian Clara Hughes

Six-time Olympic medalist Clara Hughes – the only Canadian to win medals at both the summer and winter Olympic Games – delivered a keynote address at our Leadership Thank You Event in partnership with KW Counselling on November 11, 2010 at Bingemans

Our Leadership Reception is held annually to thank United Way Leadership Donors – individuals who donate $1,000 or more in a one-year period. Their commitment and passion for positive social change is an inspiration. Many thanks to all of our Leadership Donors, and our Leadership sponsor, Manulife Financial.

2010 Celebrity Toast
Hail to the Chief...  Saluting Matt Torigian

The 2010 edition of our annual Celebrity Event saluted Waterloo Regional Police Chief Matthew Torigian. He is the ultimate protector, guardian and steward of our collective community trust. And did you know that he’s also addicted to American Idol?  We were delighted to pay tribute to this exceptional community leader.

Event Sponsorship

Our events attract key business and community leaders from across the Kitchener Waterloo area. Partnering with us for an event can help you gain increased visibility through:

  • prominent display of your logo on materials associated with the event, including advertising, invitations, tickets, signage and programs
  • exposure to our many volunteers and funded agencies, our other corporate supporters, and the local media
  • recognition of your contribution in event speeches, on our web site, through our social media outreach, in our newsletters, and in related communications and media materials

For more information about event sponsorship, please contact our Event Planner, Meg Lagrotta, at mlagrotta@uwaykw.org or 519-888-6100 ext. 232.
